Bootcamp 2010

On Sunday the 5th April we welcomed the level 2 participants to Rockport School for the beginning of Easter Bootcamp. The kids got stuck straight into the workshops held by our fantastic artistic team consisting of Syd Ralph (Artistic Director), Paul Madden (Choreographer) and Dominic Stitchbury (Musical Director). They also had a visit from Chike Okonkwo, star of recent BBC drama Blood and Oil who participated in some of the drama classes. After three days of hard work the level two group put on a performance for parents and guests on Wednesday evening to summarise all they had learned. The performance got a standing ovation from all with a few tears among the parents.
On the Wednesday we welcomed the level 3 participants to Rockport. As well as the workshops held by Syd, Paul and Dominic, they also had the opportunity to work with 3 guest tutors. On Thursday Olly Thomson from one of London’s leading Production and Management company, Cole Kitchenn, held an inspiring workshop. On Friday Stuart Barr, the President of the British Voice Association, held a fantastic singing workshop. Then on Saturday casting director Pippa Aillion coached the participants on the casting procedure for productions in the West End. The level 3’s wound up the week with an incredible performance for parents and guests on Saturday night which went down a storm with all who were present.
DVD's featuring highlights from Bootcamp will soon be available for both level 2 and 3. The office will be in touch as soon as they are ready.
